The Story Behind the Product
This gorgeous cushion was created using vintage huipil. A huipil is a top where each thread is handwoven on a backstrap loom and worn by women in Guatemala. The patterns and techniques depend on each individual woman and the region she lives in. This piece was woven in Nahuala in the Sololá region. You can see the original top in the photographs. After spending several months in Guatemala with Trama Textiles women's co-operative, I decided to create a range of upcycled cushions using these phenomenal fabrics - each piece is one of a kind.
