The Story Behind the Product
I work closely with Trama Textiles and spent several months working within their co-operative in Guatemala. Trama Textiles is a co-operative of around 400 women across Guatemala who specialise in backstrap loom weaving. The women united together to form a bond over their century-old Mayan tradition after the devastation of the civil war. Each piece requires tremendous skill and can sometimes take over a month to make.
